Power and Energy Components and Systems

Our research advances electric machines, batteries, power electronics, transmissions and thermo-fluid energy systems beyond state-of-the-art.

Power and energy components

We focus on:

Electrical components and systems

We develop technologies for converting, storing, and managing energy. This includes electric motors, generators, battery systems, and power electronics for the efficient conversion of electrical energy.

Typical applications include electric drivetrains for vehicles and wind turbines.

Thermal components and systems

We develop technologies to capture, transfer, store, and reuse heat efficiently. This allows us to maintain machines and buildings within their optimal temperature range, improving efficiency, equipment lifespan, and energy performance.

Typical applications include HVAC systems for buildings and cooling solutions for electronics and batteries.
