Robotics, sensors and actuators
We conduct advanced research into core components of robots and smart machines. These sense their environment, process signals and perform actions. Robotics systems can be both physical and digital.
We focus on
Sensing instruments and methods
We develop technologies for the instrumentation and measurement of physical signals. Our instruments can be active or passive, used remotely or in-situ, with metrology as a key component.
Our research focuses on the selection, configuration, and calibration of a wide range of sensors, including hyperspectral cameras, inertial measurement units (IMUs), and fiber bragg grating sensors.
Robot manipulation
We develop hardware technologies that enable robots to grasp and manipulate objects with precision. This requires robots to position the gripper accurately and perform gripping actions reliably.
