Transport and logistics
Sustainable transport of people and goods, from the first to the last mile.
We focus on green, autonomous and multimodal transport and logistics.
Maximum output per employee & clean transportation
Maximum output
With the growing shortage of logistics personnel and drivers, the full potential of autonomous technologies can only be realised if we apply them across the entire chain.
Our solutions enable autonomous outdoor end-to-end operations – from freight transport to loading, unloading and storage.
Clean transportation
22% of global CO₂ emissions are related to transportation. The European Union is therefore strongly pushing for cleaner transportation.
Our technologies reduce the transport sector’s CO₂ footprint by enabling the decarbonization of vehicle fleets.
Minimal fleet & multimodal scheduling loss
Fleet vehicles frequently operate partially empty, and emissions differ across transport modes.
Our technologies enable:
- Optimal planning and scheduling, minimizing scheduling losses;
- A system-of-systems approach to orchestrate autonomous fleets.
Maximum availability of transport resources
Prevent downtime due to unexpected breakdowns or charging times, ensuring maximum availability of your transport equipment.
Our technologies enable predictive maintenance to keep vehicles and logistics equipment available when required.

Our vision and context
The future of freight transport
Freight volumes continue to grow, while transport already accounts for more than a fifth of EU-wide greenhouse gas emissions. Without greener solutions, that share will only increase. That is why the EU is strongly encouraging the shift to cleaner mobility.
At the same time, the sector is facing a shortage of drivers and logistics personnel. In light of rising demand, we need solutions that handle more cargo with the same or even fewer operators. In addition, capacity across the different modes of transport is unbalanced: traffic jams are getting longer, while other modes of transport remain underutilised.
To address these challenges, future freight transport by road, water, rail and air will need to become multimodal, greener and increasingly autonomous — from the first to the last kilometre.
From origin to destination
First Mile Transport
Moving goods from the point of origin to a local warehouse, fulfilment centre or distribution hub, typically using small trucks and vans.
Related success stories and technologies
- Bosch minimises downtime using predictive maintenance by implementing our technology for manufacturing, mechanical components & systems.
Middle Mile Transport
The intermediate stage where goods move between hubs, warehouses or regional distribution centres, using a mix of deep-sea, short-sea and inland shipping, rail, road and air transport.
Related success stories and technologies
Last mile transport
Delivering goods from a local hub or warehouse to retailers (B2B) or end customers (B2C), usually by small trucks and vans, and increasingly by drones.

Logistics & Storage
Managing the flow and storage of goods across the entire supply chain to ensure efficiency and reliability.
