Flanders Make signs a Memorandum of Understanding with NATO’s innovation accelerator ‘DIANA’
Flanders Make is joining the network of test centres run by DIANA, NATO’s innovation programme for emerging and disruptive technologies. Under a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Flanders Make will deploy its test infrastructure, expertise and validation capabilities to help accelerate the development and validation of innovative technologies for defense and security challenges.
DIANA (Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) supports innovators working on groundbreaking technologies with applications for both civilian and defense-related challenges. With the signing of the MoU, Flanders Make is officially incorporated into DIANA’s international network of Technology Test Centres.
As a test centre, Flanders Make will offer selected innovators access to its extensive test facilities and expertise in the field of Testing, Evaluation, Verification and Validation (TEVV). This support helps technology developers to test, refine and validate their innovations in a realistic environment.
Flanders Make has testing infrastructure spread across the whole of Flanders. This infrastructure is used for product validation and production optimisation and will now also be available to selected DIANA projects.
The collaboration strengthens Flanders Make’s position within international innovation ecosystems and offers new opportunities to bring advanced technologies more quickly to applications with societal and economic impact. By bringing together innovators, end-users and technology developers, DIANA aims to accelerate the development of dual-use deep-tech solutions that contribute to the security and resilience of NATO allies.
