The behaviour of plastics during the production process is influenced by many factors. Properties such as tensile strength, hardness, deflection, colour and gloss are crucial for the quality of plastic products. But to achieve truly high-quality results, it’s equally important to understand production parameters such as the flow and melting behaviour of the base material.

Through our Polymer Processing & Engineering research group, we operate an extensive materials laboratory that provides first-line support to companies.

Using advanced equipment, we can perform fast and targeted analyses to help with:

• solving production or raw material issues,
• identifying base materials and additives, and
• characterising raw materials and final products.

We analyse plastic materials in terms of their:

• Thermal properties
• Rheological properties
• Physical properties
