Flanders Make selection process
As a job candidate, you should know exactly what to expect.
1. Curriculum Vitae screening
Once we have received your application, we will carefully review your CV and cover letter. We will assess your experience, skills and suitability for the role.
We aim to provide you with an initial response within 7–10 days. During periods when we receive a high volume of applications, this may take longer, but we will keep you informed at all times.
2. First interview
If we see a potential match, we’ll invite you for an initial interview.
During this interview, we’ll assess whether your background is a good fit with Flanders Make’s culture. Our recruiter will explore your motivation, your studies and – where relevant – your technical knowledge in more detail.
We aim to provide you with feedback as soon as possible, often immediately after the interview, and within one week at the latest.
3. Second interview
Is there a clear match? If so, we’ll invite you to a second interview with the hiring manager, your future line manager and the dedicated HR Business Partner. This can take place either online or at one of our sites.
You’ll be given an assignment in advance so you can prepare and present it during the interview. This allows us to gain a better understanding of your expertise and approach, whilst also giving you a realistic picture of the role.
Following the second interview, we’ll decide on the next steps. We aim to inform candidates and provide clear feedback within 10 to 15 working days.
4. Third interview
For certain roles, we organise a third interview. This may, for example, involve meeting the team, visiting the workplace or exploring the role in greater depth.
For candidates who had their second interview online, we usually arrange a further interview on site.
Here too, we aim to provide feedback within 10 to 15 working days. For candidates from abroad, we also offer a partial reimbursement of travel expenses.
5. Contract proposal
Is there a mutual match? If so, we’ll make you a contract offer and go through the terms and conditions with you.
How do we determine your salary offer?
We believe it is important that our remuneration is fair, transparent and consistent.
We base our salary offer on the insights gained from the discussions we have had with you. On that basis, we benchmark your salary against that of colleagues with a similar profile and level of experience within Flanders Make.
This means you will receive an offer that is in line with that of the colleagues with whom you will be working closely. In this way, we maintain internal consistency and ensure that comparable roles are remunerated equally.
At Flanders Make, we operate with clear pay bands for each role and level of experience. These provide structure and ensure a consistent approach across teams.
Fairness and transparency are central to this: we aim for fair remuneration that is commensurate with your experience, expertise and impact, whilst also being fair to your colleagues.
