From digital building information to manufacturable reality

Flanders Make, in collaboration with Buildwise, invites you to an inspiring information day on 2 April in Kortrijk about digital support for construction industrialisation and off-site production.

During this information day, we will take you step by step through a concrete, practical use case. Using digital building information (BIM), we will show how this information can be used to better support manufacturability, choices and industrial processes.

The focus will be on translating building information into production and implementation information, and on the role that digitisation can play in a more industrialised, off-site-oriented construction practice.

What can you expect?

Morning (from 10:00) – Practical use case
The morning focuses on a hands-on track starting from digital construction information. Using a concrete use case, it will be illustrated how this information can serve as a basis for the further workflow towards execution and production. The emphasis is on insight, decision-making, and practical real-world applications.

Afternoon (from 13:30) – In-depth information sessions
In the afternoon, we take a closer look at specific steps from the use case through targeted information sessions. Each session highlights a different aspect of interoperability and industrialisation within the chain between the construction and manufacturing industries.

One of the sessions is supported by Cadac and focuses on Configure to Order: how configuration principles and digital information flows can help better manage variants, choices, and manufacturability in a context of off-site and industrial production.

In addition, together with the project partners, additional topics will be explored that highlight other links in the chain between the construction and manufacturing industries.

This information day is aimed at construction and manufacturing professionals actively engaged in digitalisation, industrialisation, and off-site production, such as contractors, designers, manufacturers, project managers, and innovation managers.
