Challenge
Proactive quality control in coffee lines
CoffeeRoots faced errors in the production of coffee pads that were detected too late, leading to product loss. Together with Flanders Make, a system was developed to analyse camera images from packaging lines and detect errors in real time.
Technologies
AI-driven image analysis
Image data from the packaging machines is now sent to an external device, where an AI model checks the quality of the seals. With real-time image recording and AI model inference, deviations can be detected immediately.

To identify, interrogate, and evaluate both environmental conditions and system states.
Result
Less waste, better quality control
By detecting problems at an early stage, CoffeeRoots prevents large quantities of defective products from being produced. Historical data also helps to continuously improve the AI models, making quality control increasingly efficient.
