Challenge
Due to the increasing demand of awareness of cybersecurity companies need to have the possibility to more closely monitor the status of their systems remotely and allow for easy updating/patching of the machines at the site of their customer('s customer).
Not only does a good update strategy result in the possibility to react to events and increased demands on cybersecurity, but it also allows for being more flexible in applying custom behavioral changes to the system.
Project goal
The goal of the project is to show an integrated result of a few building blocks that are common in any scenario of the development and production of cyber-physical systems:
- Monitor health and update status of building blocks.
- Which data transfer strategy and architecture is needed to allow for easy version checking, secure and smooth patching of an operational installation?
- Configuration management.
- Which building blocks - and their versions - are compatible with which hardware?
- Release and update management
- How do you get an overview of configurations that are operational in the field? Which strategy do you apply for deciding when to update?
Increasing demand on customisation requires flexibility in both the Product Design and Production process. A secure and reliable update strategy allows for easy configuration of the product during production and also operation.
