Creating Personal Digital Twins for AI-Driven Training
Challenge
Manufacturing companies face a growing shortage of skilled operators, while upskilling and reskilling remain slow, costly and inflexible. Traditional training methods struggle to cope with diverse learning styles, varying prior knowledge and frequent job transitions on the shop floor. As a result, training content is often generic, redundant for some employees and insufficiently targeted for others. This leads to long training times, limited scalability and missed opportunities to build a future-proof workforce.
Project goal
Via this project (CREDIT_SBO), we aim to enable personalized, adaptive and goal-driven operator training by introducing a personal digital twin for each employee. These continuously evolving digital profiles capture skills, experience, learning history and ambitions, and are used to generate tailored training trajectories aligned with both individual and organizational goals. Supported by AI-driven training generation, multimodal content (e.g. video, XR) and human-in-the-loop authoring, CREDIT_SBO helps companies reduce training effort, improve learning effectiveness and build a more agile, resilient workforce.
