ISAAC37 - Course on applied & numerical acoustics
KU Leuven Course on Applied & Numerical Acoustics 2026
On 10–11 September 2026, KU Leuven will host the 37th edition of its Course on Applied & Numerical Acoustics in Leuven, Belgium. Organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, this long-running course brings together researchers and engineers working on advanced acoustic analysis and optimisation.
This edition offers an up-to-date overview of recent developments in applied acoustics, with a strong focus on applications in the automotive and aerospace industries. Topics range from active noise control to the use of boundary element and finite element methods for acoustic problems.
The programme combines background theory with practical implementation and application-oriented insights. Participants will discover how these techniques are used in real engineering environments through case studies and live demonstrations of experimental and numerical methods.
For whom?
The course is intended for researchers and engineers active in noise and vibration analysis, simulation and optimisation who want to broaden or refresh their expertise in applied acoustics.
No prior knowledge of the specific course topics is required, although a general background in experimental or numerical analysis techniques is recommended.
Location and language
- The course takes place on 10–11 September 2026 at KU Leuven, Celestijnenlaan 300, B-3001 Leuven, Belgium.
- The course language is English.
