POSTPONED: A Hands-On Workshop to Build Your Own Surface Defect Detector

Event address

Flanders Make Leuven
Gaston Geenslaan 8
3001 Heverlee

Are you curious about Automated Visual Quality Inspection? Have you ever wondered if you could automate quality inspection for surface defects within your company? Flanders Make offers two workshops on this topic.

Why attend?

Do you want to learn how to develop quality inspection software and train AI models to detect surface defects? You have no or limited experience with computer vision or programming – no worries, basic programming skills can be of course helpful but are not required! During this workshop you will learn the basics of training AI models and then based on a prepared use case you will develop a program that detects defects. Therefore, we will collect a dataset, annotate data and train different AI models.

Do you directly want to apply the flow to a product of your company and go home with the first version of a defect detection model for this? Then contact us upfront and we will see if it would be possible! We would be happy to include an additional part for inspection but have some requirements (e.g. the acquisition system we plan to use can record objects with a dimension between 5x5x5cm and 20x20x 20cm).

For whom?

This workshop is aimed at Industry Professionals who are interested in Computer vision and AI (basic programming knowledge would be helpful, but is not required).

Participants need to bring their own Laptop and have a google account (For easy setup we will run code online in Google Colab, for which a google account is needed)

When and where?

The workshop will take place in our Leuven office from 9.30 to 16.00 (lunch included).

If you are interested in this workshop, but March 18 is not possible for you, please indicate your interest through our contact form. If there is interest, we can organize the workshop again this year and you will be the first to be informed about another opportunity to attend this workshop.

This event was postponed. When the new event date is scheduled, we will let you know as soon as possible.
