Social distancing in the workplace
Social Distancing via Ultra Wide Band technology
In order to avoid the spread of the coronavirus, social distancing will be important and mandatory for the government in the near future. It is a major challenge for production companies to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 metres between their operators at all times.
To support companies in this, Flanders Make is developing a portable device that helps operators on the shop floor to maintain the necessary distance from their colleagues. The device, which is initially tested on its own employees, works on the basis of Ultra Wide Band localisation technology and warns operators with an acoustic signal as soon as someone gets too close.
Role of Flanders Make
Flanders Make deploys researchers for the development of this technology. The aim of this project is to develop a relatively inexpensive demonstration device the size of a computer mouse, which can be easily worn on the waistband or around the neck.
Important here is that we assume a situation without fixed infrastructure or so-called anchor points. In this way, this technology can be used in every situation, both indoors and outdoors.
Commercialisation by CRESCENT NV (OPTION TM)
After a careful testing period at various companies, we are proud to announce that Crescent NV (OptionTM) is taking out an exclusive worldwide license on our social distancing alarm. Option will add our devices to its portfolio and market them worldwide.
