At Flanders Make, we have dedicated facilities to provide innovative solutions to the needs of the industry. To tap the potential of drones for industrial operations, certain challenges need to be overcome for safe and efficient utilisation of drones in indoor industrial environments. Thus, innovative solutions are required for drone localisation and control, which adheres to both performance, safety and cost requirements. To facilitate this, we have created a suitable environment for the development of localisation and control solutions for drones to support the industry.
Technical specifications
Drone operation in industrial environments puts forth multiple challenging aspects, including but not limited to:
- Sensor set: suitable for use in complex and dynamic indoor environments – camera, ultrawide band, inertial sensors, ultrasound, etc.
- Precise localization: 3D positioning.
- Obstacle avoidance and path tracking in dynamic environments.
- Cost effectiveness
At Flanders Make, we have set up the required infrastructure to deal with the above challenges. Currently, we are working with drone platforms such as DJI Matrice 100, Intel Aero DJI S900.
