Tom Munters reinforces Flanders Make as Chief Technology Officer

The strategic research centre Flanders Make hires Tom Munters as CTO. Based on his extensive industrial experience, he will further develop the research strategy, in line with Industry 4.0 and the global technological trends that can strengthen our industry in Flanders. This in close coordination with the long-term plans of the many large companies and SMEs with which Flanders Make cooperates.

Tom Munters obtained a PhD in sciences in 2004 and supplemented this in 2008 with a Master's degree in Business Administration. He started his career in 2002 at Philips Lighting, where he fulfilled various management roles, both in Belgium and in Germany. In 2012 he became Director Innovation at Steelcase, supplier of ceramic steel architectural panels and whiteboards. Since 2018 he was active as Director Research and Development at Key Technology, an innovative manufacturer of process automation equipment for the food industry.

Tom Munters starts as Chief Technological Officer at Flanders Make on June 1st and reports to the CEO, Dirk Torfs.
