On Friday, 5 October, at 9.30 am Flanders Make will present its newest top-notch infrastructure in Lommel. We are very proud of our 3 living labs, where large companies and SMEs – together with us – test their latest products and validate them in real conditions. As a result, companies will be able to improve and accelerate the development and marketing of new products.
In the Operator Support 4.0 Lab, we help manufacturing companies to efficiently organise their production: through a better cooperation between operator and robot, for instance, or by training their operators in Virtual or Augmented Reality. With our mobile MAKE LAB, we bring state-of-the-art production technologies literally to the shop floor of companies.
In the Joining & Materials Lab, we support companies to find – already in the design phase – the best possible way to join the different materials, either manually or using the latest robot technology. Together, we optimise the assembly process and test in climate chambers whether the joining process needs adjusting to the climatic conditions..
In the E-Powertrain Lab, we test the quality of drives without actually incorporating them in a prototype vehicle or machine. This so-called hardware-in-the-loop system allows companies to make their products ready for the market in a faster and cheaper way.
The new infrastructure is realised thanks to support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the strategic action plan Limburg (SALK).
If this sounds like something that your company could benefit from, please don’t hesitate to register yourself and to come and discover our three living labs.
