Flanders Make is looking for 4 independent directors

The Board of Directors of Flanders Make calls for applications for four independent directors’ mandates.

As an independent director of Flanders Make, you co-determine the strategy of the organisation and contribute to anchoring the manufacturing industry in Flanders.

You have a CxO profile and preferably can look back on a long active career in a production and/or research environment, ideally in an area that is related to our research domains

Your application will be taken into consideration if you have no interests in or relationship with Flanders Make vzw that could influence your judgement or decisions in your favour or in favour of the organisation that you represent. As such, you are not working for the Flemish Region or for a company or university that is a working member of Flanders Make.

The Corporate Governance Code for listed companies is the guideline for assessing the independence of every candidate-director.

Our selection criteria

  • You have the required capabilities and knowledge as well as broad experience in terms of general management.

  • You have a great personal affinity with the industry, which is reflected by a combination of the following assets:

  1. Industrial background and experience;
  2. Knowledge of the technology industry;
  3. Proven commitment to the industry;
  4. You’re able to transcend your own personal vision and your own organisation to serve the collective interest;
  5. You have knowledge of and are familiar with research and innovation, and, in particular, with research conducted in a partnership between industry and universities.

How do you apply?

Prospective directors can send their motivation letter and CV before 4 February 2019 by e-mail to Mrs. Ann Diels (ann.diels@flandersmake.be). Obviously you can also turn to Mrs. Diels if you still have questions.

The Accord Group will assess the applicants and formulate suggestions.

Flanders Make aims to nominate the selected candidates as independent directors at the general meeting in May 2019.
