Following the successful Swedish-Swiss SWII cooperation (Swedish-Swiss Innovation Initiative), SBII (Swedish-Belgian Innovation Initiative) will be launched on 4 October. This marriage is less surprising than you might think at first sight. Both countries are faced with the same industrial challenges and many large companies in Flanders have roots in Sweden, think of Volvo or Atlas Copco.
During the pilot event on 4 October 2017, which will focus on the topic "Digitisation of the future industry", organisations can pitch their R&D ideas with Swedish and Belgian partners in view of setting up joint research and development projects. The event also offers major networking opportunities. You will also learn more about project funding through the European initiatives Eureka and Eurostars. Flanders Make is one of the partners of the event.
The Swedish-Swiss initiative resulted in 30 projects in 3 years’ time with an overall value of 38 million euro. Accordingly, expectations are high.
