It is difficult or even impossible to measure dynamic data such as force, torque or strain. The aim of this project is to make these data measurable.
The main challenge is to estimate physical quantities (e.g. forces) that – in practice – are difficult/expensive to measure. To be able to realise the pre-set objectives, the project focusses on the integration of four subdomains:
- Generating a model that is accurate and easy to evaluate;
- Selecting an adequate instrumentation plan;
- Correlation between model and measurements through Kalman filtering;
- Deployment on an embedded system.
